Akeredolu Gives Permanent Jobs To COVID-19 Volunteers, Health Workers
Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has declared a directive for the absorption of all workers at the Infectious Disease Hospital and the aides with the Disease Surveillance team into the public help of the State.
Akeredolu, in a series of tweets, also revealed that he has authorised the payment of 50% of the salaries of all health workers as hazard allowance.
“I have signed the documents required for the addition of workers at the Infectious Disease Hospital and assistants to the Covid-19 monitoring team to the public service.
“I have recommended that all Health workers in the state be paid 50% of their consolidated basic salary as hazard pay. All healthcare workers working right in the Isolation Centre/Treatment Centre are to get an additional 20% of their 50% as special risk allowance.”
Akeredolu also added that “All business bases, except pharmacies, patent drugs stores, dressing outlets, banks, food chain supermarkets, will remain closed and inaccessible to business and physical communication until further notice.
“All worship centres and community sporting activities will remain inaccessible as well,” he stated while encouraging the residents of the state to wear face masks in public places.
“The law enforcement agencies and the task force have been instructed to arrest anyone caught not wearing face masks correctly in public places.”
